Saxophonist for Weddings
Having performed at weddings for over 17 years I bring a wealth of knowledge, etiquette and experience to your special day.
I’m always honoured to be a part of a wedding day and offer a range of performances and packages which can be tailored for each enquiry.
You might be considering a live music accompaniment for your ceremony, a relaxed Balearic ambience for your drinks reception, background entertainment during your wedding breakfast or you might be looking to elevate a party atmosphere for the evening reception.
I can work with you to create the perfect musical accompaniment for your wedding day.
Ceremony Music
The ceremony is the most important part of your wedding day and the music should be personal to you. I can give you advice from my experience to help you choose the right songs.
I can perform a few songs to set a relaxed atmosphere ahead of the ceremony taking place as your guests are welcomed to take their seats.
During your ceremony, I can perform for the bridal party entrance as you walk down the aisle, during the signing of the register and then as you both exit down the aisle as a newly married couple.
I can also perform for a church ceremony with prior permission from the church.
BRIDAL PARTY ENTRANCE (PROCESSIONAL)
The processional music is played for the entrance of the bridal party as you walk down the aisle. This can be an emotional time and the right song can really add to this moment, songs such as “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri or “How long will I love you” by Ellie Goulding.
Whatever your choices, I can perform your piece to compliment your entrance.
SIGNING OF THE REGISTER (INTERLUDE)
After you are officially married, you will sign the register which is the official entry of your marriage into the registry. During this period your registrar, vicar or celebrant will announce to guests they can talk amongst themselves and having some background music at this point of the ceremony can help with the atmosphere so it’s not silent but doesn’t overpower.
EXIT AISLE WALK (RECESSIONAL)
Your exit down the aisle is a celebratory moment as you are now a married couple. This is a good time to choose an uplifting song reflecting this.
DRINKS RECEPTION AND WEDDING BREAKFAST MUSIC
Following your ceremony, you’ll have a drinks reception (or cocktail hour) where your photographs will take place. This is a good point to consider having some live music as it not only sets an atmosphere but also can create one, helping guests feel relaxed and they can celebrate your marriage with their drinks and canapés.
The saxophone can add sophistication and I can tailor a set to cater for all ages of your wedding guests.
During your wedding breakfast (so called because it’s the couple’s first meal after marrying) you’ll often be sat for between 1.5 – 2 hours eating, so this is also a good time to consider entertainment during the meal. I provide ‘background’ entertainment so the music is at a volume where guests can still freely talk but creates that all important atmosphere.
I have an extensive repertoire of songs ranging from pop, soul, RnB, jazz and country.
PRE-EVENING ENTERTAINMENT
You might want to have some music as your evening guests arrive and for your daytime guests after you’ve eaten. Having a ‘cocktail’ hour before your evening reception officially starts, leads the day into the night time and for that I can provide some more up-beat music to get them in the mood for the party in the evening.
EVENING ENTERTAINMENT: DJ AND SAX COMBO
I can offer a high-energy DJ and Sax performance. This is usually straight after your first dance to get the party started or we can start a little later on in the evening. Sometimes during the high summer months when it’s still light outside it can be better to wait until it’s a little darker to give it more of an atmosphere on the dance floor.
If I’m a surprise for guests, I can keep my instrument out of sight until I walk out onto the dance floor.
The set I perform alongside the DJ will blend my live instrument into the electronic dance music, 90’s club classics and disco.
Using a radio microphone allows me to roam offering an interactive performance with guests on the dance floor. This option is great for getting your guests involved on the dance floor and giving them a night to remember.
I contact your DJ in advance to chat through our equipment set up and songs so that everything runs smoothly on the evening.
I can recommend my regular DJs to you or I am happy to work alongside yours.

Testimonial
Music can be a very hard thing to decide upon for a wedding. Everyone has different tastes and it really needs to work with the theme of the day and in some instances be subtle.
The person in mind that I see so often at weddings fits in perfectly with almost any setting and any theme of a wedding. People forget about service and rapport when it comes to booking various suppliers, but the person in mind can instantly make you gravitate to them because of their passion, kind personality and talent.
Whenever I have seen her at weddings she always has a smile on her face, plays superbly as any professional musician would do and has always maintained a high standard.
There are not too many saxophonists around Bournemouth and Dorset area and others I have spoken with over the years all say the same, that the person we have in our mind is the best, most professional and thus, most booked for wedding receptions. I thoroughly recommend her.
